Wargame Trader Commissions Artist Program Guide
Follow the guide below for detailed instructions on how to navigate the Wargame Trader Commissions Artist Program as an Artist:
1. If you haven't already, sign up as a Wargame Trader Seller here. This is a one-time action and should only take a few minutes.
2. When you receive a match for a commission request, review the request and decide whether to accept it or wait for a better match. If you choose to accept the request, reply to the commission request email, and we will facilitate discussions between you and the buyer to agree on the terms of the commission. If the request is marked as flexible, you will have 72 hours to respond to the request. If the request has a defined deadline, you must be able to meet that deadline and must respond within 24 hours. If you do not respond within that time frame, we will consider that request declined and find another artist to match with the request.
6. When the work is complete, list a commission deposit product through the Wargame Trader seller portal here by clicking the “Sell Variant” button next to the “Custom Commission Deposit” variant here. The listing should match the agreed-upon pricing minus the deposit, a reference image, and a custom description.
4. Send the direct product link for the newly listed commission product to the buyer by replying to the commission discussion email. You can find the link by clicking the “View Store” link in the top right of the seller portal, then clicking on the “Custom Commission” product you just listed.
5. Once the buyer has paid the deposit by purchasing the “Custom Commission Deposit” product, you will receive an email with the order’s details and may begin work. Continue all communication through the Wargame Trader commission email thread. This keeps everything in one place and ensures both the buyer and artist are protected.
6. When the work is complete, list a final commission final payment product through the Wargame Trader seller portal here by clicking the “Sell Variant” button next to the “Custom Commission Final Payment” variant here. The listing should match the agreed-upon pricing minus the deposit, a reference image, and a custom description.
7. Reply to the same commission email thread with the direct product link for the “Custom Commission Final Payment” you just created, and ensure that payment is submitted in full before shipping the product to the buyer. You can find the link by clicking the “View Store” link in the top right of the seller portal, then clicking on the “Custom Commission” product you just listed. All sales of commissions initiated through Wargame Trader must go through this process. Wargame Trader charges a 5% fee for every commission.
8. If your commissions are paused, you can set your seller profile to on vacation by following the guide here.
Please note that all communication between Artist and Buyer related to a commission must be conducted via Wargame Trader’s internal messaging system or authorized email thread that Wargame Trader provides. This includes negotiations, reference images, clarifications, updates, and delivery/shipping discussions, etc. Direct contact via personal or external email, phone, messaging apps, or other off-platform channels is strictly prohibited until the commission is fully paid and completed.
As a Wargame Trader Seller, you can also list products that are not associated with the commissions program within the same seller portal. Simply search for the products you wish to sell and our prefilled database will help you list with just a few clicks.
Thank you for joining the Wargame Trader community!
